MIGRATION TO AUSTRALIA

< Live in Australia permanentlyOur tips >

Live in Australia temporarily

You have a few options:

- You are an expat: generally your company takes charge of all costs linked to travel and accommodation. You won’t be covered by Medicare and we advise you to have an exhaustive insurance before leaving your home country, the health related costs being really high in Australia. Please refer to our section Insurance for further details. If you decide later to stay permanently in Australia, you may not be able to apply for the permanent residency. To help you know your chances, please fill in this form and send it back to us by email to: executive@boomerangaustralia.com.

- You are sponsored by an Australian company: according to its category, your sponsorship contract can be renewed. Otherwise be aware that this status does not guarantee the permanent residency. To help you know your chances, please fill in this form and send it back to us by email to: executive@boomerangaustralia.com.

- You are alone: if you are under 30 years old, we advise you to apply for the Working Holiday visa that allows you to improve your English skills and work full time in Australia for 1 year; if you are over 30 years old, the only solution is the student visa that allows you to study (English or vocational or university courses) while working. To know the conditions of both visas, please refer to our section Visas. To know more about your study opportunities, please refer to our section Training in Australia. At expiration both visas will allow you to apply for the permanent residency. Please contact us before any visa expires to know your chances.

- You are a couple: if you are both under 30 years old, we advise you to apply for the Working Holiday visa that allows you to improve your English skills and work full time in Australia for 1 year; if you are over 30 years old, the only solution is the student visa that allows you to study (English or vocational or university courses) while working. The advantage of the student visa is that one of the spouse (married or not) can study while the other one can be a “dependent” and work without having to study, and you only pay for one visa. To know the conditions of both visas, please refer to our section Visas. To know more about your study opportunities, please refer to our section Training in Australia. At expiration both visas will allow you to apply for the permanent residency. Please contact us before any visa expires to know your chances.

- You are a family: the cheapest solution for you is the student visa that allows you to bring your family with you during the duration you have determined, knowing that the course you have selected must cover this duration ; one of the parents will study a full time course (English or vocational or university) and work, while the other spouse will be “dependent” , will be able to work without having to study but the children will have to be registered in a school in Australia. Without any evidence of schooling for your children, you won’t be granted the student visa. To know the conditions of this visas, please refer to our section Visas. To know more about your study opportunities, please refer to our section Training in Australia. At expiration this visa will allow you to apply for the permanent residency. Please contact us before your visa expires to know your chances.

- Investors Visa: this applies if you intend to invest a large amount of money in Australia either in a company or a fund or research and development projects. You can stay in Australia and live like an expat or under a sponsorship visa as long as your money is invested in Australia. If you decide to stay permanently in Australia, be aware that this status does not guarantee the permanent residency. To be able to assess your chances for the permanent residency, thanks for filling in this form and send it back to us by email to: executive@boomerangaustralia.com.
